Great games party venue with lots to do!
I have been looking for a venue for a surprise birthday weekend and this place ticked all the boxes: 2 spacious cottages which joined seamlessly as one for a group of 16 people sleeping over (there were 2 king, 2 double and 4 twin rooms); Lots of parking space; All facilities were very accessible (swimming pool, two games rooms (pool table, table football, table tennis, piano, black board, dart board), tennis court, pedal adult and kids go karts, pony rides, farm animals (inc chicken pen where you can go and collect laid eggs), hike, boating in a lake, sandpit, mini playground, swingball in the garden, bbq with charcoal, the list is endless and something for everyone (and age) to do); Host Sara was really nice, lives onsite so was always around when you needed help but otherwise we were given a lot of privacy to enjoy ourselves. Didn't really want to leave!; The two cottages had everything, tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil, cooking utensils, dishwashers, four fridges, CD's, books, magazines, board games, kid's toys and each cottage had a log burner etc; We wanted to bring arcade machines (a DDR and a retro arcade machine) which we were allowed to do and the hire company we used had no problem placing them in one of the games' rooms; and Finally the sweeping landscape of the Shropshire hills was amazing, especially during sunset. A few helpful fyi: Phone signal is poor in the area - I would advise working out the route in advance, the farm website has a good "how to find us" but maybe needs updating because Longville Arms Hotel is no longer there (closed down); There is wifi in the cottages, it is ok on the whole but can be a bit slow at times; Hiring the swimming pool and pony ride requires a small fee and at allocated times which can be booked with Sara onsite. Last allotted time for swimming pool is 5pm, it would have been good to have the pool available in the evenings too especially when it is still light in the evenings; and Min nights I could hire was 3 nights even though I only really needed it for the weekend, but I am still very happy with the choice of venue, just wish it could have been more flexi on stay. On the whole it was a very impressive venue and offered more than I imagined. Everyone that came all loved it. Some people wanted to return in the future, even if just to hire the swimming pool, which is modern and stunning with UV filtered water, jacuzzi, hot showers and lounge chairs with great views of the countryside.
